Walk for Recovery – Los Angeles County Teen Challenge & Teen Challenge Ministry Institute
Fentanyl is flooding our streets and claiming lives at an alarming rate. 1.48 million people in Los Angeles County are battling a substance use disorder, and overdose has become one of the leading causes of accidental death in California. But we believe in a name greater than fentanyl—the name of Jesus. He still saves, still heals, and still sets people free. That’s why we walk.
Los Angeles County Teen Challenge is an outreach-based ministry, actively engaging some of the most broken and underserved communities in L.A. Through street ministry, school assemblies, and referral support, their team connects individuals to Christ-centered, year-long residential recovery programs—offering a path to restoration. Teen Challenge Ministry Institute trains and equips future leaders to carry that same message of hope into neighborhoods, churches, and communities across California and beyond.
On Friday, September 20th, we’re walking together at Belmont Shore in Long Beach—two ministries with one heart: to see lives transformed. This 5K is more than an event. It’s a bold statement that recovery is possible, that hope is alive, and that Jesus still redeems. So, who do you walk for? Your son? Your sister? Your city? Be part of someone’s new beginning.
