Beyond the Dark Night: Why the Ending is Never Final
For the believer, darkness is temporary. The battle with the dark night may feel long, heavy, and unbearable, but we can rest assured that it is never ultimate. When everything around you feels like it’s crashing down, or when a season of life seems completely broken, scripture points us beyond the present painful moment to the future secured by Christ Himself.
Think about the ultimate turning point in history: The Cross looked like a tragic defeat before it became a glorious victory. The tomb looked completely final before it was found to be empty.
Resurrection is God’s response to the apparent ending. What looks final to the world is never beyond His power to redeem.
Philippians 1:6 reminds us,“being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ…”Time and time again, God demonstrates that what appears to be the end of something is actually only the beginning. He is not finished with you. He is not finished with your story, and He specializes in bringing life out of dead situations. If you are walking through a dark night right now, hold onto hope. The morning is coming.
